With production reaching only 1225 units, the Allis Chalmers model A tractor is a relative rarity, and few exist at the level of restoration that this tractor exists in today. Virtually every single nut and bolt has been out of this tractor during a multiyear restoration accomplished by AC model A specialist, the late Gene Meschke. This tractor was bought new by the Henrico County Highway Department of Henrico County, Virginia. The tractor was used to pull a road grader during its time in service. After its retirement, the tractor was found in a collection in Pennsylvania, before coming west to Minnesota for restoration as part of the Gary Ebling Allis Chalmers A Collection. Ebling sought Allis Chalmers A tractor projects, beginning in the 1980s, working to gather NOS parts that were still on shelves at the time. He began restoring tractors to the pinnacle of mechanical and cosmetic new condition.
