Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing content across a variety of audiences, mediums, and content types. You will be required to utilize audience, industry, and/or competitor research, develop long-term messaging strategies, and produce effective written content that fulfills Tractor Zoom’s strategic goals. Collaborating with members of marketing, sales, and product development, you will develop innovative ideas, gather content, develop content outlines, write copy for each asset, and ensure deliverables are accurate and positively represent the Tractor Zoom brand.

The Content Strategist will be part of the Marketing team at Tractor Zoom and report to the Director of Marketing. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent storytelling, writing, and critical thinking skills, as well as a proven ability to analyze metrics to determine whether content is well-received and achieved objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and engage in hands-on development of content designed for long-term audience engagement and advocacy, including but not limited to: 

    • Website content, including SEO-driven website content, paid media landing pages, blog articles, etc. (60%)

    • Sales materials including presentations, sales collateral, thought leadership, etc. (20%)

    • Promotional content including ad copy, social media post copy, video storyboards and scripts, etc. (10%)

    • Email content including nurture campaigns, monthly newsletters, etc. (10%)

  • Research and understand the needs of target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings.

  • Create a content plan to address the insights in the customer journey and strategy, ensuring the content is aligned to what the customer needs at each stage.

  • Write original, compelling, and effective content that matches the Tractor Zoom brand, voice, and tone.

  • Be a customer advocate. Relentlessly champion the customer and the experiences they have with the content you create—how they find it, how they consume it, how they use it to make decisions.

  • Leverage data and market insights for decision making including content optimization and new concept development.

  • Recommend updates and optimizations for blog content, web pages, etc. based on expertise, research, trends, and testing.

  • Proactively manage revisions and reviews, and implement revisions based on feedback without impacting the overall strategy

  • Perform strategic keyword research and develop SEO-friendly content for website pages, blogs, and long-form content.

  • Take the lead in presenting creative concepts and copy to internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a B2B content marketing capacity with clear understanding of effective communication styles and techniques (asset conceptualization, content briefs and outlines, writing, editing and proofing).

  • 4+ years of work experience as a copywriter with a strong portfolio.

  • Educational and/or working background in writing.

  • Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent copy editing and proofing skills, including knowledge of AP Style.

  • Ability to review own writing and critique it prior to presentation to internal or external stakeholders.

  • Strong customer centric mindset and demonstrated ability to put the customer first.

  • A demonstrated track record of business impact through content.

  • Understanding of content disciplines, including SEO, content strategy, and execution.

  • Passionate about a startup culture and adding to it.

  • Preferred, but not required: experience with agricultural products.
