Brothers John and Jake Kirschmann built the first Spra-Coupe applicator prototype in their North Dakota workshop in 1961.
The Spra-Coupe was one of the first low-clearance, high-speed, self-propelled applicators for fertilizer and chemicals. It was more efficient than the tractor-mounted spray booms of the time and was popular amongst operators as a smaller, but still professional-grade applicator.
